Tip #2 - Tomato Powder Infused Olive Oil

Elevate your salads and dipping experiences by infusing olive oil with Tomato Powder. This simple hack adds a burst of tomato goodness to dressings and enhances the flavour of crusty bread. Also try adding tomato granules, capsicum granules or some herbs and spices. The best part is your dressings will be salt free, sugar free and preservative free!

It could be as simple as 3/4 cup of Extra Virgin Olive Oil, a quarter of a freshly squeezed lemon and 1 heaped tablespoon of Tomato Powder.

Combine well in a jar or bowl and allow to stand for around 15 minutes to allow the powder to rehydrate and the flavours to infuse. You can get creative and add other herbs and spices for your preferred taste. Enjoy!

Hi Lasting Harvest, I've just received 500 grams of tomato powder and I'm blown away! Just one taste on the end of a teaspoon told me everything I needed to know. Where has this ingredient been all my life?! I bought it to make my own taco seasoning, as we eat a lot of tacos and it costs $3.50 per 3-tablespoon packet in the supermarkets. (Next on the list is coming up with my own taco sauce which is $4.50 otherwise.) However... I hadn't even got to the taco seasoning before I found myself wanting a tomato-cream sauce for pasta, and it was so simple and so delicious! Tomato powder & water as the base plus cream, garlic & onion…

Wow Catherine, We are glad you are so happy with your purchase. 🙂 The vegetable powders certainly are versatile and spark the imagination for creativity in the kitchen. We have our own in-house pasta mix, check it out next time you're on the website. Taco season mix is another one we have done a bit of work on, too. Happy cooking and thanks again for your kind words and your purchase. 🍅🌮
